Chronology of cameras Konica Minolta
The Dynax/Maxxum 7D is Konica Minolta's first digital SLR. Its design is based on the 7, the most complete model of the Dynax/Maxxum series and one of the last analogue machines of the brand. It has an infinite number of settings that can be accessed immediately with the various knobs and buttons that made the model 7 such a success when it was released. It also has a screen that displays all the shooting parameters before the picture is taken. The specific digital controls complete the package.
As usual, Minolta innovates here again with his "anti shake" system integrated in the camera, acting directly on the sensor by micro-pulses, and thus independent of the lens used (this technology will be adopted by Sony). The entire Minolta A-mount range is therefore compatible with this camera, as well as all the accessories of the Dynax/Maxxum range, including high-speed flashes and wireless remote controls.
Unfortunately, when it was released, the 7D was criticised for its slowness, which was considered unacceptable on a camera sold bare at 1700 euros. The recording time on the card was deemed incompatible with the needs of professional photography (the CF type memory cards of the time were not very fast) .
The sensor was manufactured by Sony.
An additional grip (VC-7D) was available, allowing the camera to be operated in vertical mode, and use standard AA batteries.
